Seriatopora stellata (Dornenkoralle )

Description:

The Birdsnest Coral is also referred to as Seriatopora Bird's Nest, Needle, Finger, or Brush Coral. It is a small polyp stony (SPS) coral with very delicate, thin branches with needle-like tips. It is found in a variety of shades of pink. These are very delicate, but beautiful corals that offer a variety of shape and bright coloration to a reef aquarium.

This beautiful SPS (small polyped stony) coral requires moderate water currents and intense lighting provided by metal halides to maintain its color. It is important that proper calcium, alkalinity and magnesium levels are maintained. Use of Kalkwasser Mix or a calcium reactor will be of great benefit.

Place the Birdsnest Coral (Seriatopora stellata) on an exposed rock along the top of the aquarium where currents will be able to supply it with necessary nutrients and trace elements.
